Summer 2025 Classes

Session 1: Drawing, Painting & Mixed Media
For Ages 6-12
June 23 - 27 | 10 AM - 12 PM OR
June 23 - 27 | 1:30 - 3:30 PM
This class is a summer tradition at the studio and soooooo much fun. A week-long adventure filled with creativity, fun, camaraderie, and brushing up on your drawing & painting skills. Students will fill the pages of their sketchbook with expressive imagery and masterpieces, as well as finish a canvas painting, watercolor, pen and ink drawings, and more. We will journey in the harbor to draw and paint, as well as do several drawings and paintings in the garden, and go to galleries to draw.
This will be a fabulous class filled with creativity.

Session 2: Drawing and Painting at Landmark Historic places in Scituate
For Ages 8 +
June 30 - July 3 | 10 AM - 1 PM
4 days... 3 hour class. Bring a lunch.
This will be an art adventure where we will journey to places in Scituate to draw, paint, and explore. We will spend a day at the Lighthouse, a day drawing at Lawson tower and exploring fantasy art, time learning about Tom Lawson and drawing at gorgeous historic settings. Drawing books will be provided, and we will also use a variety of papers, pastels, pen and ink, and more, to create stunning masterpieces. Art work will be finished at studio with time for sharing and adding in magical personalized touches. Art work is guaranteed to be spectacular!

Session 3: The Art of Mosaics
For Ages 8+
July 7 - 11 | 10am - 1pm (3 hour class)
Bring a Lunch
This week has been such a huge hit we decided to offer it again and have an entire week of working in glass, as well as mandala rock painting. This is an exciting class where students will design their own framed stained glass mosaic, as well as create garden mosaic rocks, mandala painted rocks, and sea glass art. The finished masterpieces are gorgeous.

Session 4: The Wizard of Clay & Wheel Time
For Ages 6-12
July 14 - 18 | 10 AM - 12 PM OR
July 14 - 18 | 1:30 - 3:30 PM
An inspiring class exploring clay techniques, and major creativity. This class will be incorporating the themes of enchantment. Dragons, gargoyles, castles, fairies, gnomes, wizards, and other fantastical creations will be sculpted using a variety of clays. Students will also have the opportunity to work on the pottery wheel designing a creative place setting with a magical personal theme. If you love to work in clay, this class is a must for you. Personal themes welcome for returning friends.

Session 5: Seaside Delights/Ocean Artistry
For Ages 6-12
July 11 - 25 | 10 AM - 12 PM OR
July 11 - 25 | 1:30 - 3:30 PM
Every summer it is a tradition to have an ocean-inspired class. Friends will design really cool ocean creatures, dazzling batik pillows or wall hangings, amazing ocean resin pieces, sea life sculptures, mermaids or mermen, lighthouse scenes, sea glass art, shell découpage, buoys, and more. Many art mediums will be explored including paper mache, sewing, mixed media, clays, and lots of sparkles, gemstones, sea glass, and gorgeous shells. Every year I find a surprise project to add to this adventure.

Session 6: Tropical Treasures
For Ages 6-12
July 29 - August 2 | 10 AM - 12 PM OR
July 29 - August 2 | 1:30 - 3:30 PM
This week friends will set sail on an artistic journey to tropical islands and the Amazon rainforest. Explore and create colorful sunset paintings with dolphins, palm trees, and vibrant rainforests in creative landscapes, islands with erupting volcanoes, jungle scenes with iguanas, Amazon rainforests with jaguars, incredible animals, birds, butterflies, lush vegetations, and more. This will be a week of brilliant art, music, and tie-dyed T-shirts.

Session 7: Animal Art & Adventures
For Ages 8+
August 4 - 8 | 10 AM - 1 PM (3 hour class)

If you love to draw and paint animals this class is a must. Friends will expand their drawing abilities at the studio, as well as take field trips to incredible places to see and draw animals. We will journey to Dalby Farms in Scituate to draw a variety of rare and wonderful animals and delight in a day of animal drawing. Friends will also go on an adventure to The New England Wildlife Center for a day of drawing birds of prey and learning about all the animals they have rehabilitated, as well as a visit with the turtles and other adorable creatures. The wildlife center also has an incredible educational room with many exciting things to draw. We will have time during the week to turn our sketches into canvas paintings, mixed media works of art, and masterpieces. We may have time to paint a pet portrait, so please bring in a photo of your pet or wish pet.

Session 8: Drawing & Painting Adventures
For Ages 8+
August 11 - 15 | 10 AM - 2 PM
4-Hour Class - Bring Lunch
During this incredible week, we will draw, paint, and explore at gorgeous locations and have enough time to soak in natural beauty and have fun. We will go to Worlds End in Hingham for a day of drawing and painting, a day at the Audubon Sanctuary, time at the Norris Reservation, and time at other gorgeous places in nature to explore landscape painting and drawings. This will be an extraordinary week of art, camaraderie, plein air painting, and soaking in nature. Art will be matted and framed at the studio, with time to add that finished personalized touch.

This class is a great summer class, and always a favorite. We have the perfect location to go on walkabouts to draw and paint in the harbor, to go to galleries and draw, and visit local places of inspiration, or stay at the studio to create masterpieces. Students will have their own sketchbooks for drawing, and all finished masterpieces will be on canvas, watercolor paper, or framed, as well as pen and ink drawings, and illustrations.
